Aztec Stoneworks is owned and operated by Jay Fletcher. He has over 15 years of experience in Stone Masonry and is a fully qualified, 3rd generation Stone Mason.
Early Career: Jay is originally from Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada. He primarily served as an apprentice under his father, whom is a 45 year master of the trade with a history in the industry dating back to the mid 1960’s. Jay also trained with several other masons; including his uncle and older brother as well as many friends of the family, all of whom total well over 150 years of experience combined. He eventually became a self- employed Journeyman at the age of 20, where he continued to work throughout Vancouver and Whistler until the age of 24, when he moved to Melbourne. At this stage he seldom works in Canada anymore but remains closely linked to the above mentioned stone masons who are all still actively working throughout the greater Vancouver region.
2002 – Current: Working under his own name Jay Fletcher Masonry (2002-2006) for the first few years of residency in Australia, Jay slowly built a strong rapport with many Stone Suppliers throughout Melbourne and completed works for many well- known and respected building companies in various suburbs around the city. From 2006 to the present Jay Fletcher Masonry became Aztec Stoneworks which was so named in respect to his late Grandfathers stone company Aztec Sales of the 1960’s. From 2006 Aztec Stoneworks has expanded into Country Victoria completing many projects in various towns including; Geelong, Aireys Inlet, Warrnambool , Phillip Island, Traralgon, Labertouche, Drouin, Warragul and Marysville to name a few. Aztec Stone still actively pursues work in distant localities around Victoria.
Jay has worked on both residential and commercial projects ranging from small feature fireplaces to massive multi-phase projects in excess of 1000 square meters. He always provides his customers with the highest quality installations and excels in his effort to provide these customers with the perfect finish that they were searching for. He comes highly recommended on a number of Stone Suppliers installation lists as well as having many return clients in builders and homeowners alike.
